The Chinese company Unitree has introduced an updated version of its Go2 robot dog, which is able to speak thanks to the built-in GPT chatbot. The novelty is already available for pre-order and promises to change the perception of robotics.
Go2 is a 40 cm high and 70 cm long, small aluminum body gymnastic robot weighing about 15 kg. Materials used to build the robot include high-strength plastic and aluminum, which provide strength and lightness. One battery charge is enough for up to two hours of active work.
The main feature of the new Go2 robot is the ability to understand people and communicate in natural language. This is made possible by an integrated chatbot that works in real time. This great feature is only available in the advanced version of the robot, which makes it even more attractive to users who are interested in advanced robotics technology.
The Unitree Go2 can reach speeds of up to 12.6 km/h, which allows it to move quite quickly over fairly long distances. The robot also has ultra-wide-angle LiDAR and high-resolution cameras that allow it to scan its surroundings and avoid obstacles while moving. This allows robots to navigate difficult terrain such as stairs, rocky surfaces and even small chasms. Thanks to its ability to maneuver, the robot can follow the owner according to the instructions, as well as successfully run along the selected route.
Unitree's new Go2 robot is offered in two versions: the base model is available for $1,600 and already has many features. However, for those who want all the benefits of natural language communication with the robot, there is a Pro version that will cost $3,000.
