Sales of new iPhone 14 Plus are close to zero: What's wrong with it?

The iPhone 14 Plus was announced back in September, along with a number of other Apple devices, but was the last to go on sale. The manufacturer seemed to hope that the iPhone 14 Plus would attract a lot of attention, because it is a completely new model, unlike the same iPhone 14, which does not differ much from last year's iPhone 13. However, Apple's hopes did not come true, and the iPhone 14 Plus - following the iPhone 14 - fails in sales.

Even at the stage of collecting pre-orders it became clear that people are not particularly interested in the smartphone. And two weeks after the launch of sales, Apple even had to almost completely stop production of the iPhone 14 Plus and turned over its facilities to the production of the more popular iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone Pro Max.

What is so bad about the iPhone 14 Plus?

According to some experts, the iPhone 14 Plus itself is not so bad. But the problem is that smartphones today are rarely considered on their own - there's too much competition. And compared to other smartphones - even Apple smartphones - the iPhone 14 Plus loses out.

Users of the iPhone 14 Plus complain about performance issues, camera issues and iOS 16 glitches, and such reviews make it not particularly appealing to new buyers.

The fact that for the same amount of money - or even cheaper - you can buy the iPhone 13 Pro Max, which still has better features, also played a big part in the sales failure.

The iPhone 14 Plus battery doesn't live up to expectations

Although the iPhone 14 Plus has one of the largest batteries ever put on an Apple smartphone, experiments by GSM Arena journalists have shown that the smartphone doesn't last as long on a single charge as one would hope.

The iPhone 14 Plus can indeed last about 2 days when not used very actively, but it generally drains faster than the iPhone 14 Pro Max and last year's iPhone 13 Pro Max.

By comparison, the iPhone 14 Plus (like the 14 Pro Max) has a battery capacity of 4,323 mAh. The iPhone 13 Pro Max's battery is only slightly larger at 4352 mAh.

That said, if you use the phone for an hour each day for phone calls, web browsing and video playback, the iPhone 14 Plus will last 102 hours, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro Max each last 121 hours.

The iPhone 14 Plus also has enough charge for 23.5 hours of talking on the phone, 16 hours of web browsing and more than 19 hours of full-screen video playback.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro Max last 23 and 20 hours when browsing the Web, more than 24 hours when watching full-screen video. They'll also last for 27 hours on the phone.

The iPhone 14, as we can see, is inferior to all three smartphones, but it also has a smaller battery.
