WhatsApp will have new and exciting feature

In the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android with build number 2.24.4.23, an updated "Status" tab has been introduced to enhance users' interaction with this type of content, as reported by GizmoChina.

Status refers to vertical videos and photos that WhatsApp users can post on their profiles. This format is similar to Instagram stories (the owner, Meta, is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).

The redesigned interface significantly changes how these statuses are displayed. Unlike the previous version, the new design adopts a more intuitive approach. Now, all new statuses are gathered in the "Updates" tab, located at the top of the chat list. Previously, users had to go to each profile separately to view statuses.

According to GizmoChina, the redesign was proposed in response to user feedback, noting the inefficiency and lack of intuitiveness in the previous version.

Currently, this redesigned interface is in the testing phase and is available to a small group of beta testers. The decision to incorporate it into the stable version of WhatsApp will depend on the feedback received and the extent of necessary refinements.

A number of new features were recently announced. In particular, the developers of the WhatsApp messenger have introduced another new feature that will allow users to add their contacts to the Favorites folder. Another feature will allow you to block spam directly from the lock screen, without even opening suspicious messages.

Meta also recently announced that it has released a new beta version of WhatsApp messenger for iOS, the main feature of which is the integration of generative artificial intelligence (AI) into the support department.
