Apple won’t make iPhone 15 Pro Max this year: What would the alternative be?

September 4, 2023  14:17

Apple will not make a smartphone with the iPhone 15 Pro Max or Ultra index in 2023, this was reported by Mark Gurman, a well-known Bloomberg insider and journalist, on his X (Twitter) page.

According to him, instead of the usual iPhone 15 Pro Max or the new iPhone 15 Ultra, about which there were a lot of rumors, Apple will present some larger version of the iPhone 15 Pro.

“In case not clear: there won’t be a Pro Max AND an Ultra. Four models total: 15, 15 Plus, Pro, bigger Pro,” Gurman wrote, without giving reasons why the company made the decision.

The insider wrote about this, commenting on the information published by another insider, Majin Bu, that instead of iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, Apple will release 15 Pro Max and 15 Ultra in 2023. According to Majin Buu, the Ultra variant should get up to 2TB of built-in storage as well as a camera with "much better functionality".

Who among the insiders is correct will become clear on September 12, the day of Apple's autumn presentation, during which the company will show its new smartphones and other devices.

Apple has officially confirmed that the fall presentation will take place on September 12 at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, USA. The presentation will be held under the motto Wonderlust.

The new devices will go on sale on September 22, and it will be possible to pre-order on September 15.

Earlier it became known that after the presentation of iPhone 15, iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will be withdrawn from production, the prices of other phones will be reduced.
