Apple to stop production of iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max after iPhone 15 presentation; prices of other phones to be reduced

Immediately after the presentation of the iPhone 15 series of smartphones, Apple will reduce the prices of the old models of its smartphones, and several models will be withdrawn from production altogether, reports BGR, referring to its own sources.

Every year, after the presentation of new phones, Apple reduces the prices of its previously released smartphones, as well as removes some models from production. The source notes that the following phones will remain on the market after the presentation of the iPhone 15:

  • iPhone SE – 64 GB built-in memory, A15 Bionic chip, starting at $429;
  • iPhone 13 – 128 GB built-in memory, A15 Bionic chip, from $599;
  • iPhone 14 – 128 GB built-in memory, A15 Bionic chip, starting at $699;
  • iPhone 14 Plus – 128 GB built-in memory, A15 Bionic chip, starting at $799;
  • iPhone 15 – 128 GB built-in memory, A16 Bionic chip, starting at $799;
  • iPhone 15 Plus – 128 GB built-in memory, A16 Bionic chip, starting at $899;
  • iPhone 15 Pro – 256 GB built-in memory, A17 Bionic chip, starting at $1099;
  • iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra – 256 GB built-in memory, A17 Bionic chip, starting at $1,299.

The production of the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, less than a year after their release, will be discontinued so they don't interfere with the sales of the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max or Ultra. By the way, the same thing happened last year.

Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman reported earlier that Apple's next event, dedicated to the presentation of iPhone 15, Apple Watch Series 9 and other new products, will be held on September 12. It is expected that it will be possible to pre-order the new Apple devices on September 15, and their sale will begin on September 22.

It is expected that in October of this year, Apple will present another product. We are talking about the first Mac computers with the Apple M3 processor. However, it is not known at the moment whether the company plans to organize a separate event for the presentation of this new product.
