OnePlus has unveiled its flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 16, featuring a display with a refresh rate of up to 185Hz in supported games, a 200MP main camera, and a 9000mAh battery. The device also supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. In China, prices start at around $896.

Display with up to 185Hz refresh rate

The OnePlus 16 is equipped with a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 2772 × 1272 pixels. In regular use, the refresh rate reaches 165Hz, and in compatible games, it goes up to 185Hz. Such a high refresh rate allows more frames to be displayed per second, which can make on-screen motion appear smoother if the game and the rest of the system support the corresponding mode.

Other display features include a minimum brightness of 1 nit and bezels measuring 1.15mm. An ultrasonic fingerprint scanner handles unlocking, while the front camera has a resolution of 50MP.

200MP main camera

The main camera uses a 200MP sensor with a 1/1.4-inch optical format. It is assisted by two 50MP modules: a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and an ultra-wide camera.

The high resolution of the main sensor makes it possible to preserve more detail under suitable shooting conditions, but it does not in itself guarantee superiority over competitors. The final photo quality also depends on the optics, image processing, and the performance of software algorithms.

9000mAh battery

The OnePlus 16 has a 9000mAh battery — one of the key features of the new model. The smartphone supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

However, battery capacity alone cannot accurately determine battery life: it depends on screen brightness, processor load, the apps being used, and the display refresh rate. This is especially relevant for a device with a high-refresh-rate screen, which may consume more power in demanding scenarios.

Performance is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor. The smartphone runs ColorOS 17. The top configuration offers 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
