Qualcomm has unveiled its new flagship mobile processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, built on a 2 nm process. Manufacturers are already preparing smartphones based on it, with the first models set to reach the market in the coming months.
The first device with the new chip was the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, unveiled on September 23. It will be followed by several flagship models from Chinese manufacturers, and later by the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Max has already received the new chip
The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max became the first smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. It was presented on September 23.
Other manufacturers will begin unveiling their devices on this platform by the end of September.
HONOR Magic9 Pro Max and iQOO 16
The HONOR Magic9 Pro Max is expected to be unveiled on September 28. One of the smartphone’s key features will be two 200 MP cameras. The device is also rumored to feature an 8,800 mAh battery.
A day later, on September 29, the iQOO 16 is expected to debut. The smartphone will feature a 2K display with a 165 Hz refresh rate and an 8,400 mAh battery.
Another major release will be the OnePlus 16. It is expected to offer a 200 MP main camera, an AMOLED display with a 185 Hz refresh rate, and a 9,000 mAh battery.
Gaming RedMagic and new flagships
In October, the gaming-oriented RedMagic 12 Pro+ will join the list of smartphones powered by the new processor. The device will feature an 8,400 mAh battery, 120 W charging, and up to 24 GB of RAM.
Later in 2026, the Motorola Signature 27 is expected to launch. According to available information, the smartphone will feature a 200 MP periscope camera.
The new processor will also appear in Samsung’s next flagship, the Galaxy S27 Ultra.

Thus, Qualcomm’s new 2 nm chip is quickly becoming the foundation of the next generation of Android flagships. The first announcements already show that manufacturers are betting not only on processor performance, but also on large batteries, high screen refresh rates, and cameras with resolutions of up to 200 MP.
