Indian company Fire-Boltt, well known for its affordable smartwatches and other wearable electronics, is preparing for a major expansion. According to GSMArena, the manufacturer is launching a separate brand, Boltt, under which it will release a lineup of affordable smartphones. This is the company's first serious step into the mobile devices segment.
Two to three devices priced up to 20,000 rupees
According to sources, two or three models will be unveiled soon. All of them will target the mass budget segment. The smartphones are expected to feature Unisoc processors and cost less than 20,000 Indian rupees (approximately $211).
The exact specifications of the devices have not yet been disclosed, but the focus appears to be on a combination of affordability and sufficient reliability for everyday use. The first new products could be introduced as early as next month.
Brand separation and use of existing infrastructure
An important point: the Fire-Boltt brand will remain exclusively for wearable electronics. The smartphones will be sold under the new name Boltt. This approach will allow the company to clearly separate product lines and avoid internal competition.
Fire-Boltt already has a well-developed logistics and distribution network built over years of working in the smartwatch market. This should significantly simplify the company's entry into the new market and speed up the delivery of devices to end customers.
Strong position in the wearable electronics market
In 2025, Fire-Boltt held an impressive 9.7% of the Indian smartwatch market. This result reflects consumer trust in the brand and the company's ability to offer quality products at attractive prices. This very experience and reputation will serve as the foundation for promoting Boltt smartphones.
Analysts note that the Indian budget smartphone market remains highly competitive, but with the right approach, the new player has a chance to carve out its niche. Especially if the company can offer reliable devices with good battery life and a basic set of modern features.
What's next
It is not yet known whether Fire-Boltt plans to limit itself to the Indian market or whether it will eventually expand to other countries. However, the first step seems logical: to leverage its strong position in India and already established sales channels.
In brief
Fire-Boltt is launching a new brand, Boltt, for budget smartphones. Two or three models with Unisoc processors, priced up to 20,000 rupees, are expected to be released soon. The company will retain the Fire brand exclusively for wearables and plans to use its existing distribution network. Given its 9.7% share of the smartwatch market in 2025, Fire-Boltt has a good chance of establishing itself in the affordable smartphone segment as well. The first devices could be shown as early as next month.
