Apple’s first foldable smartphone could radically change the perception of what an iPhone should be. According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, the new device will become the most significant update in the lineup’s history thanks to a fundamentally new form factor.

Form Factor and Design
The foldable iPhone is expected to use a “book-style” design — similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold. The device will feature a large internal flexible display that unfolds to the size of a small tablet. This will allow Apple, for the first time, to seriously implement multitasking on the iPhone: working with multiple apps simultaneously, an improved Split View, and other features closer to iPad capabilities.
