Foldable smartphones are increasingly attempting to compete not only through technical specifications, but through appearance as well. Motorola has introduced a special version of its folding razr, created in collaboration with Swarovski. The new gadget features a finish adorned with crystals and is primarily aimed at those who view a smartphone not just as a technological device, but as an element of personal style.
Swarovski crystals on a folding smartphone
The new model has been named motorola razr with Crystals by Swarovski and has become part of the Motorola Brilliant Collection.
The smartphone retains the recognizable design of the folding razr, yet its appearance differs significantly from standard versions of the device. The body is crafted in the PANTONE Meteorite shade, and its surface is decorated with hand-set Swarovski crystals.
In this manner, Motorola focused not on a subtle decorative accent, but on making the ornamentation one of the main features of the device. The smartphone essentially transforms into an accessory meant to stand out no less than a piece of jewelry.
Technology as a style statement
Motorola emphasizes that the special version of the razr reflects the company’s broader approach to device design. A smartphone should serve not only as a tool for communication and work, but also as a means of self-expression for the user.
The collaboration with Swarovski blends particularly naturally with the razr format: when folded, the smartphone becomes compact, and once opened, it turns into a full-sized device. In the new version, this unusual design is complemented by decorative elements that transform the gadget into a more noticeable wardrobe piece.
At the same time, Motorola is not abandoning the technological component. The company presents the special version as a fully functional smartphone of the razr family, while making its design the defining distinction.
