Today at 11:15 UTC (3:15 p.m. Yerevan time), approximately 99% of the world's population will be simultaneously under daylight. The announcement was made by Levon Azizyan, Director of Armenia's Center for Hydrometeorology and Monitoring.

"This is a unique astronomical phenomenon that occurs every year on July 8. Due to the combination of the Sun's position relative to the Earth and the geographical distribution of the world's population, nearly all of humanity is located on the sunlit side of the planet at that moment," he wrote on his Facebook page.
