ASUS has officially entered the RAM market for the first time under its Republic of Gamers label. The new product line, called ROG DDR5 Edition 20, immediately positions itself at the high end of both performance and price.
What the new memory offers
The memory is sold in kits containing two 24 GB modules for a total capacity of 48 GB. Two versions are available:
- DDR5-6000
- DDR5-8000
The modules fully support both Intel XMP and AMD EXPO overclocking profiles. ASUS has also added a proprietary ROG Mode designed to provide additional optimization within the Republic of Gamers ecosystem.
The modules were developed in partnership with Chinese manufacturer Biwin. ASUS says the memory features premium-grade chips, reinforced power delivery, and styling consistent with the ROG design language.
A surprisingly high price
The official retail price in China is set at 5,999 yuan, or roughly $890. At that price point, buyers could realistically purchase a decent laptop, including some entry-level gaming models.
For now, the memory kits will be sold exclusively in the Chinese market. ASUS has not yet announced international availability.
The new ROG Certified program
Alongside the launch of its own RAM products, ASUS also introduced the ROG Certified certification program. The initiative is intended to guarantee maximum compatibility and stability between memory kits and ROG motherboards.
The program already includes 14 memory manufacturers, among them:
- ADATA
- Corsair
- G.SKILL
- Kingston
- Lexar
- TeamGroup
- Viper Gaming
The goal is to simplify system building for gamers and PC enthusiasts using the ROG platform.
