In 2024, Russians spent more than 11 hours per month playing mobile games, an 85% increase compared to 2023. This is according to a study by Yota analysts, as reported by Gazeta.Ru.

The average monthly time spent by users on mobile online games reached 11 hours and 30 minutes, whereas a year ago, this figure was around 6 hours and 10 minutes. The number of users of gaming apps also grew: since the beginning of the year, the audience for popular mobile games increased by 28% in July, and by 53% compared to July 2023.

The leader in terms of internet traffic usage for the first six months of 2024 was Mobile Legends, which ranked third a year ago. It was followed by ROBLOX, Minecraft, Call of Duty, and Gardenscapes.

Russians aged 36–45 accounted for 34% of total mobile gaming traffic, subscribers aged 26–35 made up 28%, and users aged 46–55 represented 17%. Men comprised 52% of all mobile game users and consumed 54% of the total traffic.

According to Yota, in 2024, the highest amount of internet traffic for mobile games was consumed by residents of Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Ufa. The top five regions by gamer activity also included Chita and Novosibirsk.
