Before the start of sales of the Honor Magic V3 foldable smartphone in Russia, its ability to protect against water was tested the day before. The smartphone was lowered to a depth of 27 meters. Free diver Maria Olshevskaya took part in the test, the test took place in the 30 m deep pool in St. Petersburg, which is the deepest in Russia.

The smartphone was turned on during the experiment. At a depth of twenty-seven meters and a pressure of 264.87 kPa, the hermeticity of the phone was only broken and water penetrated inside. In addition, the manufacturer states that the smartphone has IPX68 protection, which means that it can be submerged to a depth of 2.5 m and stay there for 30 minutes.

Honor Magic V3 was launched in the global market in early September. The device is built on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, has 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of built-in memory. The external screen is OLED, has a diagonal of 6.43 inches and a resolution of 2376x1060 pixels. The internal screen is also OLED, with a diagonal of 7.92 inches, a resolution of 2344x2156 pixels. Sales of the new model in Russia are expected to begin on October 29 at 200,000 thousand rubles (about $2,050).

Maria Olshevskaya is a freediver, she set a Guinness record for diving in Lake Baikal to a depth of up to 40 meters without additional equipment.
