Apple is testing iPhone 16 Pro with unusual design of camera block

At the moment, Apple is testing a prototype of the iPhone 16 Pro with a redesigned camera module, as reported by a well-known insider using the pseudonym Majin Bu on his X (Twitter) account.

To illustrate the new rumor, Bu shared a photo of the iPhone 15 Pro with a schematic representation of the updated camera block. Based on the image, it appears that all three lenses of the iPhone 16 Pro will be unified by a triangular bar, with the lenses forming the vertices of the figure.

"Based on the information I've obtained, it seems that the iPhone 16 Pro will have a new design for the camera module. These [photos] should be very close to what Apple is currently testing," wrote Bu.

The insider's post garnered over 1 million views on the X social network in less than a day.

Apple has previously used the current camera design, where two lenses are stacked vertically, and the third is positioned to the right of them, in several iPhone models. This design first appeared in the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max, which were introduced in 2019.

Earlier it was reported that the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max smartphones with their A18 processors will be more different from their previous models. Specifically, according to Economic Daily News, Apple's A18 chip will feature a significantly improved neural processing unit, or NPU. And it will really be necessary, as iOS 18 is expected to receive many new features powered by artificial intelligence.

NEWS.am Tech also reported earlier that the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max smartphones, which are expected to be released at the end of the year, will receive larger batteries and up to 2 TB of built-in memory.
