More and more Android smartphone users switch to iPhone

The analytics company CIRP has published the results of a study showing an increase in users switching from Android to iPhone.

According to the study, in June 2024, the number of new iPhone owners who previously used Android smartphones significantly increased. However, experts believe that this is not as positive news for Apple as it might seem at first glance.

The share of new iPhone users coming from former Android users in June 2024 reached 17%, the highest level in the past five years. This result significantly exceeds last year's level of 10% but does not reach the historical record of 21% set in 2017.

Nevertheless, sales of the latest iPhone 15 models remain low. Experts believe that former Android users are primarily interested in the new operating system rather than the latest Apple smartphone models.

Analysts also note that with the increase in new iPhone users, the share of existing owners upgrading their devices is decreasing.
