Pavel Durov, the founder and head of the social network, hopes that by the end of the year, Telegram will cross the border of 1 billion users.

The indicator of monthly active users (Monthly Active Users) is the number of people who use the platform at least once a month, according to the page of the Telegram advertising platform.

"Telegram has reached 950 million monthly active users, it was 900 million in the spring. We are approaching one billion," Pavel Durov, head of the social network, wrote on his channel.

The last time Pavel Durov talked about the number of the messenger's audience was in April of this year during an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson. In particular, he said that the number of users has reached 900 million, 2.5 million new people are registering daily, and by the end of the year, according to his calculations, the number of Telegram users should reach 1 billion people.
