WhatsApp adds 2 new features

July 10, 2023  10:23

The developers of the popular WhatsApp Messenger continue to improve it and introduce new features.

As part of the latest updates, two interesting functions have appeared in this app, which will facilitate the use of the app and make communication through messages even more convenient.

Message filtering

In the first update, WhatsApp developers added a message filtering feature to the chat list itself. This means that users will now be able to manage filters directly from the app's main screen.

The filter buttons will be located above the chat list, and each chat will have its own filters. This will enable to organize chats by unread messages, personal and business chats. This will make navigation and the process of finding the right chatter much easier for WhatsApp users.

Currently, this app does not have filters for group chats, which causes a number of inconveniences, especially for many users who have work chats on WhatsApp.

This feature is currently available under Google Play's beta testing program in update 2.23.14.17, Gizmochina reported.

Hints with stickers

The second update spotted in the beta version of WhatsApp for iPhones has to do with stickers. Now users can quickly find the stickers they need using the emojis associated with it.

Accordingly, when a user types an emoji into the message input field, a pop-up window appears with stickers associated with that symbol. This function enables active users of WhatsApp to reduce the time spent on finding the necessary stickers and to simplify the process of using stickers in messaging.

This function is still in the testing phase and is available only to some beta testers who have installed the app through Apple's TestFlight service. For Android users, this update is available in the 2.23.14.16 version of the app, the WABetaInfo portal reported.
