Adobe has begun integrating its intelligent assistant, Firefly, directly into its flagship programs. Users can now give AI text commands to perform various tasks right inside the familiar Creative Cloud applications.

The feature is already available in public beta versions of several key programs.

What the new assistant can do

Firefly is capable of significantly simplifying routine work. Its capabilities include:

  • Automatically creating various versions of layouts and graphic materials for different formats
  • Structuring projects
  • Quickly finding the right content within large working files

The feature has proven particularly useful for video editors. The AI can analyze footage and find the right clips based on text queries. For example, the system can locate all video recordings containing a specific line of dialogue in seconds, greatly speeding up work with large archives.

In the initial phase, Firefly support has been implemented in beta versions of Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, InDesign, and the Frame.io platform. Adobe plans to expand the assistant's capabilities to the rest of its ecosystem applications in the future.

New tools for generative AI

At the same time, the company introduced additional features for Firefly. Users will now be able to save AI-generated characters and objects as persistent references. This will allow them to maintain a consistent visual style across different projects without having to describe it in detail in the prompt each time.
