Serbian philosopher Vojin Rakic ​​has put forward a new hypothesis to explain the Fermi paradox, which concerns the lack of visible traces of alien activity. His research was published in the International Journal of Astrobiology.

The Fermi paradox is that despite the enormous size and age of the Milky Way, in which the Earth's solar system is located, humanity has yet to discover any traces of intelligent alien life.

Rakic ​​offered two possible explanations for this paradox. First, he argues that human senses and perception may be unable to detect traces of extraterrestrial life. Second, he believes that alien civilizations may be located in parts of the universe that are still inaccessible to modern technology.

The philosopher also noted that alien beings may be radically different from the forms of life we ​​are accustomed to. For example, they may be made of dark matter, exist in other time or space dimensions, or possess intelligence that surpasses human understanding.

Rakich also suggested that extraterrestrial life may exist in parallel universes, making it inaccessible to our perception and technology at the current stage of development.

Earlier, an international group of scientists from the SETI Institute for the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence conducted an intergalactic scan to detect alien radio signals in the 100 MHz range. The study covered 2,800 galaxies, but the results have not yet confirmed the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations.

It should also be noted that astronomers from Harvard University believe that extraterrestrial life can be searched for on planets with satellites in the form of black holes, since highly developed alien civilizations can certainly use miniature black holes in orbit of their planets as energy sources.
