Death Stranding 2 to be released in 2024: Original video game can be downloaded for free until December 26th

Death Stranding 2, the sequel to the famous Death Stranding video game created by Hideo Kojima and his Kojima Productions studio, will be released in 2024. And the original game can be downloaded for free until December 26, 8pm Armenia time.

According to Twistedvoxel.com, information about a possible release date for the Death Stranding sequel came from the game's senior character artist Frank Aliberti's profile on ArtStation.

Frank Aliberti, judging by his resume, has worked as a character artist on both the new Death Stranding and PlayStation Studios' yet-to-be-announced first-person shooter game, also due for release in 2024.

Death Stranding 2: Could fragile become a playable character?

Recently, during his Brain Structure podcast, the game's creator Hideo Kojima talked about the important role of Fragile, one of the main characters of the original game, the head of a large courier service, Fragile Express, in the new game. She is depicted on the cover of Death Stranding 2, too, with the child in her arms.

It is possible that she will become a playable character as well as the new main character of the game, especially since the main character of the first game, Sam Bridges, will appear quite old in the second game—if the game trailer is to be believed.

In the podcast, Kojima also informed that in the continuation of the game, the new characters played by Elle Fanning (The Neon Demon, The Great) and Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool 2) will be given no less importance.

"Elle and Shioli do not appear in the trailer, but I think in the near future I will be able to show what roles they will play. I can't reveal much at the moment, but these three women (Lea, Elle, and Shioli) will play important roles," said Kojima.

He added that players will certainly be impressed by the "crazy things" that will happen in Death Stranding 2.

Death Stranding 2 was announced during The Game Awards 2022. According to reports, the game uses the MetaHuman Unreal Engine 5 technology, which makes it possible to create very realistic characters. The game is expected to be released on PlayStation 5.

The original Death Stranding is available for free download

The original version of Death Stranding will be available for free download on the digital distribution service of the Epic Games Store until December 26 at 8pm Armenia time.

Initially, the director's version of the game was given free download access with additional content and improvements, but after a few hours it was changed to the standard version of the game.

Death Stranding is an open world action game released in 2019 on PlayStation 4 and in 2020—on Microsoft Windows.

Some critics and players gave the game very high marks, although many were disappointed with it because despite the original concept and plot, the game in terms of gameplay resembles something like a "pizza delivery simulator," as many often call it.
