A number of changes are expected in the iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 operating systems, some of which are described on the Apple website. Many of the new features are designed to make it easier for people with disabilities to interact with iPhone and iPad.

Eye Tracking, one of the interesting new features, allows users to control the device using their gaze. The technology uses a front-facing camera to track your gaze, allowing for contactless interaction with the interface. To use this function, you will not need to download anything additional or purchase special accessories.

The next innovation, Music Haptics, can transmit musical rhythm through the activation of the haptic response of a smartphone. Thus, people with hearing impairments will be able to perceive music through the vibration of the phone.

The Vehicle Motion Cues function will help reduce motion sickness in transport through motion visualization on the smartphone screen. This feature has already attracted the interest of many users.

The Vocal Shortcuts and Listen for Atypical Speech features are designed to make the device easier for people with speech impairments to assign preset phrases to perform complex tasks. The device's speech recognition capabilities have also been improved.

Apple also announced improvements to CarPlay for people with disabilities.

Other innovations are expected - not only for iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, but also for visionOS. The announcement of updates will take place at WWDC 2024 in June, and the release of new operating systems is scheduled for September.
