Powerful 28,000 mAh battery that will last a week: Avenir Telecom introduces Hard Case P28K smartphone

February 26, 2024  12:05

Four years ago, the French company Avenir Telecom, holding the license for the Energizer brand, introduced a smartphone with an 18,000 mAh battery at the annual MWC exhibition. Since then, the company's engineers have been hard at work, and at MWC 2024, they showcased the Hard Case P28K smartphone to the public, featuring a remarkable 28,000 mAh battery.

Similar to its predecessor, the Hard Case P28K will be sold under the Energizer brand. Thus, the Energizer Hard Case P28K boasts the most powerful battery ever installed in mass-produced smartphones. According to the developers, one battery charge is sufficient to provide a week-long autonomous operation. In talk mode, the smartphone can function for up to 122 hours (over 5 days) without recharging, and in standby mode, autonomy increases to 2252 hours (almost 94 days). The battery supports fast charging with a power of up to 33W.

The downside of the smartphone lies in its unimpressive hardware specifications, as well as its size and weight. Due to the powerful battery, the device has a thickness of 27.8 mm and a weight of 570 g, which is more than three times the thickness and weight of the iPhone 15. Therefore, the novelty is not suitable for those looking for an elegant device.

As for other features, it is worth noting the lack of support for fifth-generation (5G) networks. The device is powered by a modest MediaTek MT6789 processor, complemented by 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB internal storage. The design includes a 6.78-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1080p and a triple main camera. The software platform is Google Android 14.

Avenir Telecom plans to sell the Energizer Hard Case P28K smartphone at a price of $250. The device will be available for purchase in October of this year.
