Marvel Games is developing a single-player game about Iron Man in collaboration with Motive Studio from Electronic Arts. The name of the game has not yet been finalized, so Marvel is just calling it an Iron Man game for now.
The project is still in the preliminary stages of development, but we know that the game will be a third-person action-adventure game that will tell an original story about Tony Stark. The story will reveal the complexity of his character, and show his charisma and creative genius. Players will be able to feel what it is like to play Iron Man.
The Motive Studio team as executive producer is led by Olivier Proulx, who already has experience working on Marvel games.
"It's an honour and privilege to have the opportunity to make a video game based on one of the most iconic super heroes in entertainment today," he said. "We have a great opportunity to create a new and unique story that we can call our own. Marvel is encouraging us to create something fresh. We have a lot of freedom, which is so engaging for the team."
Tony Stark (Iron Man) is one of the founding members of the Avengers team and one of the strongest characters along with Steve Rogers (Captain America), Thor, and Bruce Banner (Hulk).
Tony Stark is also a member of the Illuminati, a secret society of powerful super beings that includes Professor Charles Xavier, Dr. Stephen Strange, the non-human king Black Thunder, Reed Richards and Namor the Sub-Mariner.
Some of these characters may also appear in the new Iron Man game. We might even see Spider-Man – Peter Parker, since he had a good relationship with Tony.
However, this is just a guess, because there are no official details about the story and the characters in the game at the moment. Iron Man may fight the bad guys in the game alone.
According to EA, the Iron Man game marks the beginning of their partnership with Marvel: this is the first of several games the companies will make together. A Black Panther game is also rumored to be in the future.
