Armenian company Picsart has ranked among the ten most popular mobile applications with generative AI in the world. A ranking by venture fund Andreessen Horowitz shows that artificial intelligence tools are becoming part of familiar services for working with photos, videos, and graphics — and Picsart has managed to secure a place among the biggest players in this market.
Not only AI startups: who makes it into the global ranking
The results were included in the seventh edition of the Top 100 Gen AI Consumer Apps report, published on October 5, 2026. The mobile ranking includes 50 applications, arranged by the number of monthly active users. Sensor Tower data for August was used for the calculations.
The list includes not only services originally built around generative AI, but also long-established platforms where such features have become an important part of the user experience. Picsart is also present in a separate ranking of 50 web products, compiled on the basis of Similarweb data.
This approach makes it possible to assess not only the popularity of new AI services, but also how artificial intelligence is changing already familiar digital products.
There are fewer new entrants
According to Andreessen Horowitz, only 11 new products appeared in the latest edition of the ranking — the lowest figure across the seven editions of the study.
At the same time, the positions of general-purpose AI assistants and specialized content creation tools are strengthening. The market is gradually becoming more mature: alongside new services, user attention is being retained by platforms that have already integrated generative features into familiar workflows.
For Picsart, this is an especially important context. The company is not developing a standalone chatbot, but rather tools that allow users to edit images and videos, create designs, and generate content within a single platform.
From an Armenian startup to a company valued at over $1 billion
Picsart was founded in 2011 by Hovhannes Avoyan, Artavazd Meghrabyan, and Mikael Vardanyan. The company develops a platform for photo and video editing, graphic design, and digital content creation.
In 2021, Picsart raised $130 million in investment and received a valuation of over $1 billion, becoming Armenia’s first tech unicorn. Its inclusion among the ten most popular mobile AI apps is another indicator of the company’s international presence.
The significance of this result goes beyond the ranking itself. It shows that in the global AI market, not only new models and specialized neural-network services are competing, but also products that know how to turn the capabilities of artificial intelligence into everyday tools for millions of users.
