Apple is preparing a second round of announcements in October, the main highlight of which could be the presentation of a touchscreen MacBook. According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, the launch is scheduled for October 27, although the date could still change.
As GSMArena reports, citing Gurman, sources familiar with the company’s plans also expect the announcement of an iPad mini with an OLED display, as well as 14-inch MacBook Pro models and an iMac powered by the new M6 chip.
Two launches in one month
According to sources, Apple will split its October announcements into two stages. The first will take place on October 13: the company has already confirmed the event, at which it is expected to introduce new smart home devices.
Among the possible new products are a HomePod with a screen, an updated HomePod mini, and a new version of Apple TV. In addition, Apple is reportedly preparing to release several smart home accessories from LG and Schneider Electric.
The second wave of announcements may take place on October 27 or around those dates. This is the event associated with the expected debut of new computers and a tablet.
A touchscreen MacBook and an OLED screen for the iPad mini
The main rumored new product is a touchscreen MacBook, which has been the subject of speculation for a long time. If the information is confirmed, Apple will present the first laptop in this lineup with touch input support.
At the same time, the company may update the 14-inch MacBook Pro and iMac, equipping them with the M6 processor. Another expected device is an iPad mini with an OLED display.
For now, these reports are based on insider information: Apple has not confirmed either the lineup for the second presentation or the date it will take place. Therefore, the devices’ specifications and release timing remain preliminary.
