Apple has begun rolling out iOS 27 to compatible smartphones. The new version of the operating system features the updated Liquid Glass design, faster app launches, revamped search in Spotlight, Photos, and Mail, as well as a new version of Siri with artificial intelligence features.

At the same time, Apple is also releasing iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, and visionOS 27 for supported devices.

What’s New in iOS 27

One of the main changes is the continued refinement of the Liquid Glass interface. In addition, Apple says app launch speeds have improved — in some cases by as much as 30%.

The company has also redesigned search across several system apps at once. The changes affect Spotlight, Photos, and Mail, where search is expected to become more convenient and efficient.

The updated Siri with AI features deserves special attention. However, at launch it is available only in beta and comes with significant regional and language limitations.

The New Siri Is Not Yet Available to Everyone

Initially, Siri’s AI features work only in English. In addition, users in the European Union will not get them at launch.

Support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish is expected to arrive in October.

At the same time, iOS 27 itself is available much more broadly: Apple has not reduced the list of compatible smartphones compared with last year’s iOS 26.

Which iPhones Will Get iOS 27

The update supports all models starting from the iPhone 11 lineup, as well as newer devices:

·       iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max

·       iPhone Duo

·       iPhone 17, iPhone Air, and iPhone 17e

·       iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max

·       iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16e

·       iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max

·       iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max

·       iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max

Thus, iOS 27 has exactly the same list of compatible iPhones as iOS 26. Support remains in place even for 2019 models.

How to Install iOS 27

The update is being rolled out gradually and may not appear on a specific device right away. To check whether it is available, open Settings → General → Software Update.

At the same time, the availability of certain features, above all the new Siri, depends not only on the iPhone model but also on the user’s language and region.
