The highest X-class flare was recorded on the Sun, which is the first flare of this class in almost a month.

The head of the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Sergey Bogachev, told RIA Novosti that no impact on the Earth is expected, but the geomagnetic field will be disturbed due to the arrival of plasma clouds released from earlier explosions.

"The highest class flare in almost a month has been recorded on the Sun. The explosion occurred at 12:43 Moscow time. The last outbreaks of this class took place on August 18. The initial degree of the outbreak was X1.3," Bogachev said.

He noted that the event is not a record and is several times inferior to the largest flares of the current cycle, but fits into the logic of the general trend of increasing solar activity observed in recent days.
