In ten years, millions of people will have Neuralink brain implants. Elon Musk expressed this opinion on his page on the X social network.

Musk noted that if everything goes according to plan, then in the next five years, Neuralink will first be installed in hundreds, then tens of thousands, and then millions of users.

Neuralink is a chip that is implanted in the human brain, allowing it to directly interact with a computer or smartphone. The first operation to install this implant took place in January 2024 using a special robot. The robot surgically implanted a brain-computer interface into the area of the brain that controls the movement of body parts.

In March 2024, the first patient with a Neuralink implant, Nolan Arbo, demonstrated how to play chess using only the power of thought. Seven years ago, Arbo became paralyzed after an accident. On June 25, Arbaugh reported that the device's efficiency continued to improve, despite some of the electrodes having become dislodged from his brain.

On August 5, Musk announced a second patient with a Neuralink implant, noting that this patient had 400 functioning electrodes in his brain.
