iPhone, iPad and Mac will have free ChatGPT: Apple is partnering with OpenAI

Apple has begun a partnership with OpenAI to integrate the artificial intelligence (AI) ChatGPT chatbot capabilities into the Siri voice assistant, as well as other tools on iOS and other Apple platforms, Apple announced at WWDC 2024 the event.

Sam Altman, head of OpenAI, also confirmed the cooperation with Apple. “We're excited to announce a partnership with Apple that will integrate ChatGPT into their devices later this year. We think you'll like it," Altman wrote on his X social network page.

ChatGPT will be completely free for users of iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia operating systems. You don't need to create an account to use it. Apple also states that the chatbot will not store user request history. The popular chatbot will also be integrated into all iOS tools that have writing functionality. If you subscribe to the paid version of the chatbot, it is also possible to connect it to Apple products.

As reported by The Verge, it was previously reported that Apple is in talks with Microsoft and Google about the possibility of integrating their artificial intelligence technologies into operating systems. Apple ultimately chose OpenAI as a partner.
