Sony presented its analogue of Apple Vision Pro։ What makes it stand out?

During the CES 2024 technology exhibition in Las Vegas, Sony unveiled its cutting-edge Extended Reality (XR) headsets, which have the potential to compete with Apple's Vision Pro, as reported by Gadgets 360.

The product currently lacks an official name, but Sony positions it as a "device for creating and interacting with spatial content." Spatial content encompasses 3D models, interfaces, and other content that can be played and edited using specialized devices.

Sony offers two types of controllers for interacting with such content. One is a pointer resembling many modern VR headset controllers, and the other is a smart ring that fits onto the finger.

Sony's XR headset is equipped with a pair of OLED screens with 4K resolution, covering 96% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The high performance is provided by the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 processor from Qualcomm. The proprietary rendering technology ensures the display of realistic high-resolution textures in real-time.

Sony positions this product as a professional device for representatives of the gaming and film industries, as well as for designers.
