WhatsApp adds new feature allowing to send HD videos

Meta Corporation has released a new version of the WhatsApp messenger for iOS and android that allows you to send high quality (HD) videos, 9To5Mac website reports.

Before this update, all videos sent to WhatsApp were automatically compressed to 480p resolution, which 9To5Mac points out is very low quality by today's standards. Although the compression reduced the file size, the video quality suffered greatly.

With the release of the new version, users can now choose between "Standard quality" (480p) and "HD quality" (720p) compression mode options when sending video. At the same time, the WhatsApp interface will show how much the file will be compressed after this or that version of processing.

9To5Mac writes that the 720p resolution is still far below the current 1080p and 4K. Therefore, if the user wants to share such a video without losing quality, he should send the selected clip as a file.

The new version of WhatsApp is already available for download from the App Store and Google Play in many countries.

WhatsApp regularly introduces new features. Recently, it became known that users in the messenger would soon be able to send each other high-resolution photos, create their own stickers with the help of artificial intelligence.

WhatsApp also recently announced that it would add a new feature to protect messages. In another innovation, Messenger has also recently added a feature to add multiple accounts to one phone at the same time.
