The author of the YouTube channel My N Mi showed how the world's smallest 3D printer works. The 41mm tall printer creates small models measuring 11x11x17mm. The printer measures 18x31x41 mm and weighs only 17 g.
According to Tomshardware, the small printer is made from a combination of wood and plastic. It works based on stereolithographic printing technology. A syringe pours photopolymer into a small reservoir at the bottom, which hardened under the influence of light. The printer is powered through a micro USB port on the back.
The authors of the world's smallest 3D printer showed how their printer makes a translucent robot figure. The details are clearly visible in the light. The figure has small elements, such as mechanisms on the chest and small protrusions on the head and legs.
It is not yet clear whether the authors of My N Mi intend to develop their project.
Earlier, the Russian company F2 Innovations released a small 3D printer capable of printing parts up to 4×2×1 mm. It is planned to be used in the aviation, space and automotive industries.
