Samsung is going to introduce its first smart glasses, Yonhap News reports.

They will be unveiled simultaneously with the Galaxy S25 smartphone at the Unpacked event, which will take place on January 22, 2025.

These glasses will be presented with a limited display of an image or video, and the full launch of the device will take place in the third quarter of 2025.

The glasses will run on a platform developed jointly by Samsung and Google—and based on Android.

Functionality will be based on augmented reality (XR) technologies, gesture control, and wireless payment.

It is noteworthy that this device, according to reports, will not have a display and will weigh about 50 grams—reminiscent of Ray-Ban smart glasses.

Samsung plans to unveil as well the XR-platform this month, and it will become an important step in the development of the ecosystem of smart devices of this company.
