A vlogger with the nickname JerryRigEverything tested the durability of Huawei's most expensive and foldable smartphone. Mate XT failed the test, the video of which is available on the author's YouTube channel.

Introduced earlier this fall, the Mate XT folds into three parts and is Huawei's most expensive phone, priced at 19,999 yuan, or about $2,800. During JerryRigEverything's testing, the Chinese flagship just broke.

The author noted that he was able to easily scratch the flexible screen using his fingernail. At the same time, he noted that a similar problem occurs in all foldable devices. Judging by the video, both of the Mate XT's hinges stopped working after the vlogger poured dry sand on the phone.

The author of the JerryRigEverything channel noted that the smartphone can be easily damaged if the three parts are folded incorrectly. The author was able to easily break the device by bending it in the opposite direction. After this test, the device's screen is turned off. The blogger noticed that at that time a warning appeared on the screen that the phone was folded incorrectly.

Earlier, a Chinese vlogger showed how noticeable the folds of the Huawei Mate XT smartphone are when looking at the screen at a right angle.
