A school-child’s smartphone caught fire in Dmitrov school No. 8 in Moscow Oblast while she was playing the PUBG Mobile online game of the shooter genre, Gazeta.ru website reports.

The incident took place on the morning of September 11. Eyewitnesses filmed it and published the video on the Internet. In the footage, it can be seen how the teenager elbows her way through other shool-children, holding the edge of the smoking smartphone case. There is no information about what kind of phone it was.

"Panic started among the children, the eyewitnesses say, the students were leaving the school, the lessons had just ended at that time. Eyewitnesses say that before the smartphone started smoking, the girl had played the PUBG Mobile online shooter game," wrote the source.

PUBG Mobile is an online game that was released in 2018 and requires high performance smartphones. In one of the game modes, 100 players land on an island and try to survive by hiding in a gradually narrowing safety zone. The only surviving hero wins the game.
