OnePlus 8 Pro smartphone explodes next to user while he was asleep (photo)

A Reddit user named itsmeshailesh posted a video showing smoke coming out of the OnePlus 8 Pro smartphone. According to him, the smartphone exploded in standby mode when it was not being used and was not being charged.

At the time of the explosion, the owner of the phone was sleeping about 30 cm away from the device. The thermal shock took over the pillow, due to which the owner of the phone was not injured.

Realizing that the battery was the cause of the explosion, the owner of the smartphone contacted technical support. There, however, he was told that the cause of the explosion was pressure on the motherboard, which he disagreed with. In this regard, he made a post on the Reddit forum and urged OnePlus to conduct a thorough investigation, instead of putting forward baseless hypotheses.

“I was sleeping a foot away from the phone when it happened, so it was a serious threat to my life. I hope someone from the OnePlus team can help me find a solution,” itmeshailesh wrote.

In the comments of his post, he also published photos of a mattress and a pillow that were burned by the smartphone explosion.
