In India, а Redmi Note 10 Pro smartphone caught fire while charging and melted while the owner of the phone was asleep. The owner of the phone, who is registered on Twitter under the nickname Sami91826, told about the incident.

The user also attached photos of a melted smartphone and a burnt mattress to his post. However, no one was injured as a result of the incident, he said.

“Today my redmi note 10 pro caught fire and was burnt. Luckily no one was majorly hurt just a few bruises. The phone was on charge beside me when I was asleep, I somehow woke up at time and was able to get the phone away from people. Can someone please help me with this,” wrote Sami Ullah Khan.

Twitter users, as a sign of support for the victim, began to mention Indian bloggers and the representative of Xiaomi in their comments. However, the manufacturer has not yet commented on the situation in any way.

Such cases happen quite often recently. For example, the recently purchased Redmi Note 12 Pro smartphone caught fire in the owner's pocket while he was working in the field. This incident also happened in India.

Recently, a OnePlus 8 Pro smartphone exploded while the phone was in standby mode: it was neither used nor charged.

Another case happened in the USA, when the charging iPhone 4 caught fire. The camera installed in the kitchen recorded the moment the phone caught fire, the fire was extinguished later. None of the residents of the house were injured.

However, there are more tragic cases. For example, an 8-year-old girl died in India due to the explosion of the Redmi Note 5 Pro battery. Forensic examination showed that the battery exploded due to overheating, even though the phone was not charging at the time.
