Apple to resume production of budget iPhones: When will iPhone SE 4 come out and what is known about it?

Back in 2022, analysts said that Apple could completely abandon the budget iPhone SE smartphone series or delay the release of new phones from this series for a long time. Now, however, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that Apple has resumed work on a new iPhone in this series.

According to the analyst, the iPhone SE 4 could go into mass production in the first quarter of 2024. The smartphone will probably look a lot like the iPhone 14, both in terms of the body and the 6.1-inch OLED display. "Internal" changes are also likely to be minimal.

There is also an opinion that instead of a Qualcomm 5G-modem, the smartphone will get a 5G-modem, developed by Apple itself.

Since the iPhone SE 4 won't arrive until 2024, the same year as the iPhone 16 series, it's likely that the standard iPhone 15 models will be equipped with A16 chips by then, and it's possible that the iPhone SE 4- will also get an A16 chip.

Nothing is yet known about other specs of Apple's future low-cost smartphone. How cheap it will be is also hard to say, but experts expect it to be at least cheaper than other iPhones that will come out the same year.
