WhatsApp gets another new feature

WhatsApp plans to change the process of voice calls: now in the Android version of the application, when there is an incoming call, the subscriber’s photo will be displayed on the entire screen.

New calling features

According to WABetaInfo, in addition to the full-screen profile photo of the caller, other innovations have appeared:

• Now the icons at the top allow you to minimize the call window or add participants from your contact list to the current voice chat.
• The bottom panel has received an additional parameters item.

Current status and expectations

Currently, these innovations are only available to beta testers. To use them, you need to download the client from Google Play with build number 2.24.12.14. The update is expected to be available to all users in the coming days.

So far, the changes only affect the Android version of WhatsApp, and it is not yet clear whether they will reach iOS users.

WhatsApp will also soon have the ability to create profile photos using AI, reset the unread message counter, and hide group chats from prying eyes. Moreover, the design of the application for Android and iOS has recently changed radically.
