Apple has revealed details about the release of its first mixed reality headset, the Vision Pro. According to the company's press release, the new product will be available for purchase in Apple's flagship stores in the United States on February 2, and pre-orders for the headset can be placed starting from January 19. The device will also be offered on Apple's official online store.

"The era of spatial computing has arrived. The Apple Vision Pro is the most advanced consumer electronics device ever created. Its revolutionary and magical user interface will redefine how we communicate, create, and explore," said Apple's CEO Tim Cook in today's press release.

The Vision Pro package includes two strap options: Solo Knit Band and Dual Loop Band. This allows users to choose the most suitable and comfortable way to secure the headset. "The Apple Vision Pro is designed as a modular system so users can personalize the device for themselves. The element made of three-dimensional multilayered glass gently curves around the user's face and transitions into a frame made of aluminum alloy. The Light Seal pads are made of soft fabric and come in different shapes and sizes, adjusting to the user's face for a precise fit. Elastic straps ensure close proximity of sound to the user's ears, and the included Solo Knit Band and Dual Loop Band help find the optimal fit," according to Apple's statement.

In addition to the straps, the package includes sealing cushions, a cover for the front of the headset, a screen-cleaning cloth, a rechargeable battery, a power adapter, and a charging cable with a USB Type-C interface.

As a reminder, the Vision Pro is Apple's first mixed reality headset, running on the entirely new VisionOS software platform. Regarding the cost of the new product, acquiring the Vision Pro with a 256 GB storage capacity will be possible for $3499. In addition to the headset itself, users can purchase Zeiss lenses for $99, and prescription lenses for $149. At this stage, Vision Pro will only be available in the United States, but Apple assures that the device will be introduced in "more countries" later this year.
