Humane, a startup founded by former Apple employees, has introduced the AI Pin, a device positioned as an alternative to the traditional smartphone.

The innovation is a module with magnetic attachment designed to be worn on clothing. The accessory lacks a display, as all interaction with the AI Pin is conducted through voice commands, a touch panel on the device's body, and gestures detected by a built-in camera and several sensors. A projector is also included, capable of displaying information on various surfaces.

The device operates on the CosmOS operating system and a specialized program called AI Mic, facilitating the connection of AI Pin to artificial intelligence models from Microsoft and OpenAI. It is promised that the new accessory is entirely autonomous and does not require synchronization with smartphones.

Technical specifications for AI Pin have not been disclosed. It is only known that the device runs on a Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm, and a monthly subscription is required for its use. For $24 per month, users will receive a T-Mobile eSIM, cloud storage, and access to artificial intelligence models.

The AI Pin itself is priced at $699, with orders set to open on November 16, 2023, and deliveries to customers expected to commence in 2024.
