iPhone 15 interests more people than iPhone did 14 last year: Apple gets 10-12% more pre-orders

Demand for iPhone 15 series smartphones increased by 10-12% during the pre-order period, compared to the same period last year, when pre-sales of iPhone 14 models took place, according to the Wedbush analytical company. The more expensive iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models are especially popular, which can become a serious incentive to increase the average price of Apple smartphones to about $925.

According to a new report from Wedbush analysts, pre-orders for the iPhone 15 exceeded last year's figures for the iPhone 14 by 10-12%. However, it is important to note here that only Apple has accurate data on pre-sales or sales, and analysts use various estimation methods to estimate sales volume, including scanning customers' electronic payment receipts.

The most expensive models of this series, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, are most popular especially in the USA, China, India and some European countries. This has a positive effect on the average selling price, which according to analysts could reach $925 for new iPhones, which is $100 more than the price of the last 12-15 months.

Experts note that the extension of delivery dates for iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models additionally indicates their high demand. So, the delivery dates of some models are already reaching the end of October or the beginning of November, while the very first buyers will receive the new products at the start of sales, which is scheduled for this Friday, September 22.

Analysts at Wedbush note that demand for new iPhones in India has grown by 25% year-on-year, driven by the country's growing middle class. Interest in Chinese Apple products also remains high, despite the Chinese government's ban on government officials using Apple smartphones for work purposes.

Analyst Daniel Ives emphasizes that this is very favorable for many users to upgrade their phones. According to him, the smartphone upgrade cycle now reaches four years, that is, a user buys a new phone every four years on average, which opens up wide prospects for Apple, because about 250 million iPhone owners in the world are in this cycle. . This could fuel further sales growth in the current cycle, although there is growing skepticism among analysts that Apple will not be able to maintain its market share in China.
