Famous billionaire Elon Musk promises to make the renamed Twitter (X) the most valuable brand in the world. Planned innovations will transform X into a financial hub, enabling users to manage their finances. True, the company also faces possible legal problems related to the intellectual property rights of the letter "X".

To make Twitter the most valuable brand in the world

Elon Musk recently announced plans to make his Twitter social platform, rebranded as X, the world's most valuable brand. Musk published this statement on his Twitter page, commenting on the words of an expert who assumed that after the name change, the value of the Twitter brand would decrease by more than 40 billion dollars.

"X will become the most valuable brand in the world. Remember my words," Musk wrote.

Musk previously said that the name Twitter no longer reflects the nature and functions of this microblogging platform, so it has been renamed X. As part of the rebranding, Twitter has also updated its logo. Instead of the usual blue bird, you can now see the black and white letter X on the website. According to Musk, the logo will still be finalized. The official Twitter page has also been renamed X, and the company's office has been brightened up with a new logo.

Regular updates on Twitter

Twitter is expected to introduce new features to its users soon. An official statement about the planned innovations appeared on the website of the owner of the company, Elon Musk.

"In the coming months, we will add comprehensive information sharing and the ability to manage your entire financial world," the businessman wrote.

What exactly he meant by this and how the updated platform will work is still not completely clear.

Launched in 2006, Twitter has become a popular tool for sharing short 140-character messages around the world. After some time, the allowed number of characters in posts was doubled to 280, which allowed users to express their thoughts and ideas more freely. Now the platform may change beyond recognition.

Twitter may face lawsuits over X's name change

As Reuters reports, Elon Musk's decision to rename Twitter into X may have legal consequences for the company, as there are already other companies that have the right to use X as intellectual property.

Josh Gerben, a trademark attorney, says lawsuits against Twitter are likely. There are about 900 trademarks in the US that contain the letter X, and companies such as Microsoft and Meta already have the rights to use this letter for their products and brands.

Microsoft uses the X to promote the Xbox brand, and Meta has registered the blue and white X for use in the "software" and "social media" categories. If the companies prove that the logos and ads of the new social platform X cause confusion among consumers, they can demand compensation or that the use of X be banned.
