Elon Musk, the founder of SpaceX and Tesla and CEO of Twitter, posted a meme on his account on June 18 that became the most popular tweet of 2023. In terms of the number of likes and retweets, his meme bypassed the photo of the child of the singer Rihanna.

According to Forbes, the meme is a photograph of a man smoking a cigarette and watching a crowd of people from a dais. The caption for the image reads: "People who have Twitter but never post anything."

As of July 4, the tweet has garnered over 1.5 million likes, over 128,000 retweets, and over 78 million views. Many users, having seen the tweet, admitted that they themselves belong to the category of passive readers of the social network.

The next most popular tweet is a photo of Rihanna's son RZA Athelston Meyers, whom she first showed as part of a photo shoot for Vogue magazine. The post has garnered over 1.3 million likes, 47 million views, and over 86,000 retweets.

Interestingly, the third most popular Twitter post is also Elon Musk's post featuring his dog Floki. In this tweet, Musk jokingly named the dog as the new CEO of Twitter this February. The post has 1.2 million likes, 139 million views and over 89,000 retweets.
