The iPhone of an extreme sports enthusiast named Hutton Smith fell out of his pocket during a parachute jump, hit the ground and was not damaged.

As 9To5Mac reports, the plane from which the parachutist jumped was flying at an altitude of about 4.2 km. In the video published by Hatton Smith on TikTok, the moment when the phone flies out of the pocket and falls down is clearly visible.

After landing, Hutton and his friends went looking for the phone and not only were they able to find it, but to everyone's surprise, it was found to be undamaged and working fine.

According to Hutton, the iPhone fell at a speed of about 160 km/h, but two circumstances saved the phone from damage: first, the phone was in a Catalyst brand protective case, second, the smartphone fell not on a hard surface, but in the soft mud of a swamp.

Hutton's video has caught spotlight. A user with the pseudonym Lexi sarcastically noted that iPhones have an interesting feature: they either shatter when dropped from the couch onto the carpet, or they don't break even when dropped from an airplane.
