The developers of the popular AnTuTu benchmark have published statistics on smartphone specifications collected over the last months of 2024. The study reflects key market trends related to screen sizes, resolutions, refresh rates, processors, and other parameters.

Screen sizes: demand for compactness

Compared to previous quarters, the share of smartphones with screens larger than 6.7 inches decreased from 46.9% to 40.6%, giving way to models with slightly smaller displays.

  • 1% of devices are equipped with screens from 6.5 to 6.7 inches.
  • 3% belong to smartphones with a diagonal of 6.2–6.5 inches.
  • Compact models with screens smaller than 6.2 inches accounted for 9%.

Experts note that the growing interest in compact flagships indicates the desire of users to combine high performance with ease of use. Manufacturers are starting to actively respond to this demand by introducing smaller devices to the market.

Resolution: 1.5K Strengthens Its Position

The most popular resolution is 1.5K displays, which account for 42.6% of all devices.

  • 6% of smartphones have a Full HD resolution.
  • In third place are screens with a 2K resolution (16%).

This confirms that users value the balance between image quality and energy consumption that 1.5K displays offer.

Refresh Rate: Betting on Smoothness

Smartphones with a 120 Hz refresh rate continue to lead the market, accounting for 65.7%.

  • In second place are devices with 144 Hz screens (23%).
  • Displays with a base frequency of 60 Hz hold only 18.2%, confirming their departure from flagship positions.

High refresh rates are becoming the standard for most modern smartphones.

Processors: Qualcomm dominates

Qualcomm chipsets are installed on 69.7% of smartphones, which confirms their leading position.

  • MediaTek solutions occupy 28% of the market, continuing to hold the second most popular result.

RAM: growth in volumes

The most popular RAM volumes are:

  • 12 GB - 41.8% of devices.
  • 16 GB - 38.7%.
  • 8 GB - 13.2%.

The growing popularity of models with 16 GB of memory shows that users prefer gadgets designed for multitasking and the use of resource-intensive applications.

Android version: transition to Android 15

The most popular version of the Android OS is Android 15, installed on 52.3% of smartphones.
