Analytical company Kantar has published a ranking of popular smartphones in different markets around the world, based on the results of the third quarter of 2024.

In four of the five regions, the best-selling smartphone was the base iPhone 15, except for China, where the iPhone 15 Pro Max is in first place.

In the US, the iPhone dominates, occupying the top five places, while in Australia the only Android device in the top 5 is the mid-range Samsung Galaxy A55.

Despite the iPhone 15's leadership, the Samsung Galaxy A55 takes second place in Europe, and in Japan - the Google Pixel 8a. The Japanese and Chinese markets have the greatest variety of brands: Sharp Aquos Wish3 is on the list of Japanese bestsellers, while Huawei Pura 70 and Xiaomi 14 are also popular in China.

Kantar ComTech experts also noted that global sales volumes in the third quarter of 2024 decreased by 2% year-on-year. This is due to weakening demand in China and Japan. Significant growth in smartphone sales was recorded in the US (+21%), the five largest European markets (+13%) and Australia (+19%).
