Specialists of the DxOMark laboratory tested the screen of the base iPhone 16 and were dissatisfied with the results.

The iPhone 16 display showed good brightness levels in all scenarios, but there were sharp changes and fluctuations when playing HDR content, as well as a loss of contrast in SDR mode.

The 60Hz refresh rate didn't deliver smooth images, and the touchscreen, while responsive to touch, experienced "ghost touches" in landscape mode (when the screen responds to touch and performs appropriate actions when the user isn't actually touching the screen) and sometimes didn't respond to touches. when holding the device with one hand and pressing the camera button.

The screen also has its strengths. In particular, reading and consuming content in low light is comfortable thanks to the absence of screen flicker and accurate color reproduction. The screen also has a high-quality blue light filter, thanks to which the device won the DxOMark Eye Comfort award.

As a result of the tests, the iPhone 16 scored 142 points and took the 40th place in the DxOMark global ranking, losing even to the budget Samsung Galaxy A35 (143 points). In its price category (Premium Ranking), it is in sixth place, between iPhone 15 (140 points) and Samsung Galaxy S24 FE (145 points).
