Analysts from Counterpoint Research have published a report on the best-selling budget smartphones in the second quarter of 2024.
Experts note that the market is showing growth largely due to models priced under $150—budget smartphones account for 37% of global sales, as flagship features are increasingly being integrated into these devices.
In total, over 100 million smartphones were sold in the second quarter of 2024, which is 10% more compared to the same period last year. Sales of the most popular budget models increased by 21% compared to the first half of 2023.
The leader among affordable Android devices was the Redmi 13C 4G, with a market share of 4.1%. In second place is the Samsung Galaxy A05 with a 4% share, followed by the Galaxy A15 4G with 3.3%. The fourth position is held by the 5G version of the Redmi 13C with a 2.4% share, and fifth place goes to the Redmi A3 with the same percentage.
The list also includes the Samsung Galaxy A05s (2.3%), Tecno Spark Go 2024 4G (1.7%), Oppo A18 (1.5%), Oppo A58 4G (1.4%), and Oppo A38 (1.4%).
